What this service is

Blood tests are a commonly used medical test and can be useful for checking general health, identifying signs of infection, and seeing how well organs like the liver and kidneys are working (depending on what you test). This clinic is designed to make that process easier to access — without GP wait times.

Who runs the clinic?
  • The Health Lab is a private blood testing service in Ireland offering referral-free testing and results delivered by email.
  • The Health Lab clinics are pharmacist- or nurse-led, focused on a calm, professional client experience from booking to results.
  • SALT Float & Recovery Suites is Galway’s modern health spa focused on restoring “Body, Mind & Spirit,” built on the belief that prevention matters.

Why we’re offering this at SALT
  • At SALT we already help you feel better — through therapies that support relaxation, recovery, and resilience. Now, in partnership with The Health Lab, we’re giving Galway access to a clinic where you can also measure what’s happening internally and bring those insights to your GP or chosen healthcare professional if follow-up is needed.

How it works

  1. Choose your test(s) from the available blood tests and packages.
  2. Choose your location (for this clinic: SALT, Galway).
  3. Enter your details carefully (especially your email) and pay to secure your time slot.
  4. Prepare for your test: some tests require fasting; you can drink water, and The Health Lab recommends coming hydrated and warm and avoiding strenuous exercise the day before as it can impact results.
  5. Have your blood taken by a trained professional — tell the team if you’re nervous about needles or feeling faint.
  6. Receive results by email, typically as a clear PDF report.
  7. If you’re concerned or results warrant follow-up, you’re advised to contact your GP and bring your results with you.

Booking → Blood draw at SALT → Lab analysis → Results by email (most within ~1–3 working days, depending on test)

Highest Quality Testing & Certification through Randox Health

The Health Lab states it has “teamed up with Randox” to provide high-quality blood tests. Randox explains that testing is conducted in partnership with an ISO 15189:2012 accredited laboratory (Randox Clinical Laboratory Services, UKAS Lab ID 9329) and describes UKAS accreditation as demonstrating very high standards with biomarkers validated for accuracy and repeatability. The Health Lab also states laboratory testing is performed by ISO-certified and UKAS-accredited independent laboratories.
